A small hotel near the sandy beach at Lido

The Hotel Villa Wanda is located between Portoferraio and Porto Azzurro, only 600 metres from the renowned sandy beach at “Lido di Capoliveri”, one of the biggest and best equipped on the island and easily accessible on foot or by car. We have agreements with a small seaside resort and a diving centre right on the sea which give specific discounts to our guests.

We would also like to highlight the strategic position of the hotel, which enables the main and characteristics villages of the island, such as Porto Azzurro, Capoliveri and Portoferraio (the main port of arrival), and their beautiful beaches to be reached in a few minutes by car, without the traffic and chaos of driving in major cities.

Porto Azzurro has numerous services and characteristic local handicraft shops, and also has an elegant seafront and tourist port. Those who want to be entertained or stay up late at night have a wide range of choices: Porto Azzurro and Capoliveri have the best pubs, discos, clubs, wine bars and beer bars on the island.

Capoliveri, which is also near the Hotel, is a small village perched on a hilltop mainly involved in the farming and mineral trades in the past and now one of the most characteristic and active places on the island, rich in attraction and history. Its narrow and picturesque alleyways and archways, called chiassi, hide small handicraft boutiques and lively locales where typical dishes or a glass of wine can be enjoyed.

Lido di Capoliveri is a long sandy beach surrounded by characteristic Mediterranean vegetation. It is exactly half way between Portoferraio and Porto Azzurro and is easily accessible; the services available are good, and the beach is especially busy during the high season.

The renowned beach at Lacona, characterised by its magnificent dunes of very fine sand and many tourist services available, thanks to which almost any water sport can be enjoyed, is only a few minutes’ drive away.

In addition to Lacona, there are numerous other delightful beaches and bays on this part of the coast: Margidore, Lido, Zuccale, Barabarca, Pareti, Innamorata and Remaiolo are all surrounded by the Mediterranean forest and its pine and eucalyptus trees, prickly pears, palms and agaves, all part of an oasis of peacefulness and nature.

The eastern coastline is very different, as most of the existing beaches are sand mixed with mineral dust because of the specific conformation of the land in the area, giving it a classical shiny look and giving the small inlets the appearance of real treasures of nature.
